So today I was doing some research on Saudi Arabia because my main character for my next manga project is from there. And also he is gay. So yeah I went to wikipedia and in my search I found this: [link]

I knew that homosexuality was looked down on in many middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia but I didn't know to what degree the injustice was.

Basically if you are caught doing anything that may mean you are gay, in a relationship with someone of the same gender or if your caught crossdressing you can be stoned, whipped or sentenced to death. u.u
I feel so sorry for my character Alima... I already knew that I would give him a hard life because his parents are douchebags and he would obiviously have to hide that he was gay from everyone... I hope that doing that comic won't offend people... So yeah after having to go through all that (as you probably guessed) Alima gets killed and goes to the spirit world and becomes a powerful archangel. So yay he's pretty happy to be dead, but also very depressed about the thought that his boyfriend(that I haven't named yet) wasn't killed, he's being tortured, basically being killed slowly and painfully by the police just for being with the person he loved...

I mean I think middle easter culture is cool (just as I like most cultures) but I just think it's crazy how ignorant and hateful people can be.
